The creation of a new branch emerged as a sustainable solution, enabling us to absorb the continued growth of our business while also improving environmental performance and our employees comfort. Designed in line with the latest standards in energy efficiency and environmental sustainability (BREEAM GOLD certification), the building features enhanced insulation and facilities that enable it to reduce its dependence on traditional energy sources and its electricity and water consumption. The site also includes a service station capable of handling different types of fuels and biofuels, such as HVO or B100, and also 12 charging points for light vehicles and 2 charging points for heavy vehicles, in line with the Groups new operational practices. Lastly, the branchs design gives priority to staff comfort and safety (break rooms on each floor, a large canteen, new safety equipment, etc.). Together, these new facilities help create a safer, more pleasant and more sustainable work environment.

Improving the buildings' energy efficiency and employee comfort

Since 2021, Heppner has relied on the Deepki tool to monitor its buildings’ energy consumption in real time and increase the effectiveness of its actions, investments and good practices, with the goal of improving the buildings’ energy efficiency.

Heppner is focusing on the following levers:

  • replacement of propane-powered forklifts with electric forklifts, which has led to a 50% reduction in propane consumption between 2022 and 2025;
  • investment in connected, sustainable LED lighting solutions;
  • renovations or optimisations, adapted to each site’s specific features.

These efforts are yielding significant results; by the end of 2025, more than 89% of the Group’s m2 already comply with the relative or absolute energy efficiency targets set for 2030 (tertiary decree).

These best practices, tried and tested for several years at Heppner France, are being rolled out progressively to the Group’s other sites, both in France and abroad.

Furthermore, in 2025, a budget of €80,000 has been set aside for renovating staff facilities and toilets to improve quality of life and work conditions at 10 sites in France.
