CSR is woven into our day-to-day strategy. More than just a shared corporate responsibility, it informs all of our decisions. It guides our long-term activities, enabling us to tackle numerous challenges: health and energy crises, climate change, international tensions, digitalization, and more.
Committed to the environment, we are already one step ahead. Our momentum has led to tangible successes in 2025.
Over the last few years, uncertainty has become the norm for businesses. In this context, and as we celebrate Heppner’s centennial, we have made a clear choice: to make 2025 a year of continuity. Continuity in our strategy, in our commitments and in our long-term vision, true to our DNA. Obviously, we have also chosen to apply this choice to our CSR strategy, which we continue to develop with the aim of taking concrete steps to address the challenges currently transforming our industry.
First and foremost, 2025 has been a decisive year for our environmental transition. Building on the commitments made to reduce the CO₂ emissions from our operations, we have continued to evolve our energy mix by integrating increasingly sustainable energy sources. The past few months have marked a key stage in this evolution, with the recent addition of our first electric trucks to our fleet. A transformative project that was made possible thanks to the extensive preparatory work carried out by our teams, including testing phases for both drivers and charging solutions.
2025 was also a year of progress in social inclusion. Convinced that our teams’ well-being is central to our success, we have continued to optimise and harmonise the experience of all our employees. We focused on all our talent, at every stage of their journey: recruitment, retention and development.
Thus, we have increased our employment rate for people with disabilities by one percentage point – a milestone that reflects our commitment to enabling everyone to thrive within our community. This dynamic was once again recognised by our employees, who have again distinguished us this year as a Great Place To Work.
Finally, 2025 was also a year of active corporate contribution. As every year, we have continued to support organisations and positive initiatives wherever we operate, thanks to our employees’ unwavering commitment to awareness-raising and charity actions. At the same time, we have strengthened our commitments to our customers and suppliers, who have reiterated their trust in us and, this year too, have awarded us some of the highest satisfaction scores in the industry.
As we celebrate 100 years of history, we have reflected on the progress achieved in environmental, social and corporate responsibility. From ambitious goals to concrete achievements, our path remains unchanged: to help build a more sustainable, more inclusive and more positive future. A path that we will continue to follow with constancy and commitment, during the next hundred years.
Heppner measures its carbon emissions to the industry’s most comprehensive standards and acts on all emission scopes in line with its decarbonisation plan, defined in 2021. Its decarbonisation track records will be submitted for SBTi validation in 2025.
Heppner has been diversifying the energy mix of its vehicle fleet since 2019. This gradual transition is bearing fruit, as today 57% of the Group’s heavy goods vehicles use alternative energy sources (70% in France).
Since 2019, Heppner has committed its partners to a joint process for reducing CO2 emissions: the Energy Transition Pact. Heppner is now taking this strategy worldwide.
The complementarity of rail and river freight with road transport offers a competitive, high-performance transport alternative, in line with a sustainable approach based on ambitious regulatory objectives.
Committed to reducing its carbon impact, Heppner has put in place an energy sobriety plan in recent years, while continuing to renovate its facilities and buildings and optimise their energy efficiency.
As part of a continuous improvement initiative, Heppner organised “Eco-Driving Games” in 2024 in all its French branches. This challenge enables the company to monitor driving behaviour and improve fuel consumption indicators.
Particularly well-suited to last-mile delivery in dense city centres, cargo bike solutions are being developed in response to the constraints imposed by cities to ease traffic congestion.
Launched in 2021, Heppner’s voluntary drive for the integration of disabled people is based on 3 main areas monitored by the Group’s disability community: recognition of disability, implementation of conditions for maintaining employment, and active recruitment. Continuing from the initial agreement, the new disability agreement has been signed for the period 2024-2026.
Heppner makes room for all talents, ensuring that everyone is able to join the team, develop their skills and advance their career, regardless of their initial background.
Social commitment is part of Heppner’s DNA. Local charity initiatives are encouraged, shared and developed by the Group, with the support of the CSR department and its network of representatives.
The degradation of ecosystems and the loss of biodiversity are major challenges for the future. Convinced of the need to act to reconcile the preservation of living beings with economic development, the Heppner Group is committed to working alongside recognised players in the field.
Guided by the growing demands of e-commerce and societal expectations in terms of service quality, Heppner is strengthening its commitment to providing an optimised customer experience. In 2024, its Net Promoter Score (NPS) once again reported a significant increase, testifying to increased customer satisfaction and the effectiveness of the actions put in place.
Our CSR strategy is built on five fundamental pillars and a governance framework driven by a spirit of entrepreneurship and responsibility that we share with our stakeholders. We measure our actions and their impacts using widely recognized indicators and benchmarks to track our progress.
