Heppner continues its international growth with the acquisition of Segers Internationaal Transport
DownloadHeppner announces the acquisition of Segers Internationaal Transport, a Dutch company specialised in international flows between the Netherlands and Spain.
A new location in Benelux
Following the acquisitions of HaCas in the Netherlands in 2017 and DINA in Belgium in 2021, Heppner Group is continuing its expansion in the region with the acquisition of Segers Internationaal Transport.
Founded in 1974, Segers Internationaal Transport is, like Heppner, a family business renowned for its quality of service and expertise in international transport. The company has expertise in the transport of high-value products, and a strong position in flows between the Netherlands and Spain.
Segers Internationaal Transport employs around 30 people and has generated revenues around €24 millions in 2023. The company has a modern 14,000 m² warehouse in Oosterhout, strategically located between Rotterdam and Antwerp (Belgium), and 12 km away from the Heppner branch in Gilze. This new facility provides Heppner with additional capacity to offer logistics and transport solutions to its customers in a strategic market at the heart of economic exchanges between Northern and Southern Europe.
An operation in line with Heppner’s internationalisation strategy
Segers Internationaal Transport generates around 70% of its business on import-export routes between the Netherlands and Spain. Its integration into the Heppner Group will enable it to benefit from the Group’s strong presence in Europe and develop new services and destinations for its customers.
At a time when trade in goods is becoming increasingly international, this integration is a further milestone for Heppner in its strategy to consolidate its position as a key player in international transport and logistics.
“The acquisition of Segers Internationaal Transport and its addition into our network will enable us to densify our territorial coverage and extend our operational capacities in the Netherlands. This new facility will enable us to offer our customers even more effective and reliable solutions for their international flows and local distribution needs. It demonstrates the growing internationalisation of our company”, says Jean-Thomas Schmitt, Chairman and CEO of the Heppner Group.
“We are delighted with the integration of Segers Internationaal Transport into the Heppner Group. We wanted to join a large-scale transport group to offer Segers Internationaal Transport the opportunity to accelerate its growth and develop in a more global market. We are very pleased to do so with a family group with which we share the same values”, adds Ludwig Segers, shareholder of Segers Internationaal Transport.
